Well, well, well. A spy from the Gareth Leather camp must have infiltrated my live journal showing the severe distaste for my abborant splif partaking. An assumption of course, but who leaves Anonymous posts, really, I ask you.

Whether or not my mystery poster was an associate of Mr. Leather or the big cheese himself has no direct relevance to my following comments.

Straight Edged (or sxe because we're so unique) Hardcore folk...jesus wept. I was talking to a true gentleman in the Kray last night called Sam (he actually asked me to dance, god bless) and his brother Lewis (who was that hotty misplaced 'emo' boy that worked in Woody's). We were sat outside, across the road in the age old tradition of the 3-4am sit-off and we got onto the topic of 'the scene' and 'hxc' and 'sxe' and all that utter fucking bollocks. From my general conversations, this Sam and Lewis one included, it would appear that there is hardly any respect for the Straight Edge kids out there. I even have an ex-sxe friend who openly states that they are all self-righteous tossers...but I think they are the ones who, unfortunately have to put up with.

But there is this one lad I know, from the Wallasey BMX scene called Sidwell who is also sxe and he is such a lovely non-judgemental chaps. If you want to get bladdered, he'll still sit around you, if you're smoking he'll just ask you to blow it in the opposite direction, or make a joke - instead of moving away in a disgusted snub nosed manner. If all straight edge people were like Sidwell I would really not have a problem.

In fact, the very fact that they are deemed sxe gets up my nose. Not simply people who have different views, nooooo, they are a group apart from the rest of humanity, with their own nickname and special sign of the black cross to further segragate themselves. Oh fuck off and just get on with it I say. You don't get your run of the mill tee-totaller going to such lengths. Oh but I forgot, it's more than just abstainance, it's a philosophy. Well fine, but please just accept that you are not right by definition, you simply have a subjective opinion.
